I have a 64-bit Dell Latitude E5500; intel core 2. It had windows 7 Pro installed sometime in the past. When I purchased it there was no OS, hard drive, or anything installed. I tried Linux for a bit and vista as well, before I got a windows 8.1 32-bit , full version. I had used it for 4 months without much problem. I went to refresh it and reinstall due to way to much going on and many changes were made so I went to reinstall a clean version and have not been able to use my laptop since. THAT WAS OVER A MONTH AGO! I have tried everything I can find, and I'm still not sure what the problem is let alone how to go about fixing it. I need someone to either a) diagnose and give instructions in detail how to repair, or b) remotely take over and pull me out of this disaster.
Here are the things I have been able to gather. My windows will not boot, from any thing. Here are some messages I have received after power on. The 1st was "no boot sector on internal hard drive" then "no boot able devices found" followed by "a file is missing , boot configuration data, is missing or corrupt error code 0xc000000f" also " no operating system found" "the drive where windows is stored is locked unlock and try again" is the most recent message.
I have- tried; to install vista, and xp from system reinstall disks for dell. Same results. I tried booting from disks got nothing; USB -nothing. I have been into setup and accidently loaded defaults, and applied it. Don't really think it should have caused the problem. I have made forward progress to the tools that tell me my computer needs repair. I have selected all of them and got nowhere, except to tell me that the" partition that windows is in is not found" and internal hard drive not found". I researched command lines and went to command prompt in the recovery advanced options and tried to restore' remake and locate drivers files and images from past. All to no avail.
I am frustrated and confused. I do not know enough to figure it out and know to much to not see it through. I'm missing something and need help. I wouldn't even mind to go back to an older version like windows 7 pro or any thing as long as I could get to use my computer online and move forward.
