RemoteApps launch on Local Server but not on Remote Client

I have a Windows Server 2012 R2 machine that I have been using as a Remote Desktop Terminal server for about two years. Recently, it started displaying the error message that;

"The digital signature of this RDP file cannot be verified. THe remote connection cannot be started."

So, I looked and discovered my certificate had expired. I created a new one and restarted the service then opened the RDPWeb connection again, logged in and clicked on one of the Apps I had it configured for.

Nothing happened on the remote client. The button appears to click, but the app never launches. So I went to the local server and launched the RDPWeb and did the same thing, except this time It launched the app just fine.

After this I figured I had an issue with the Session Collection, so I blew that away and recreated it. Same problem.

What am I missing here?

Thanks,

Hi guys. We having a issue, that when someone is moving a file from a network mapped drive connected through webdav. When a user is moving a file from his desktop to this mapped drive no message appears. But when the user is moving the file from the mapped drive to his desktop and it is a roaming profile. A security window appears and says, are you sure you want to do this. The path is like \\servername\homes\username\Desktop. Both places, so the unc path and the webdav address are under the trusted sites. Now is the question. Why this is happening?

Warning message on RemoteApp

Hello.

Please take a look on screenshot. This warning happens when user try to start RemoteApp. All certificates are public secured except Publishing certificate (it's created on local CA THAT IS TRUSTED BY USER). Server 2012 R2 and the clients are Win7\8.

Should we replace our local CA certificate with Public CA? Or it will stay warning us...

We have a user here who is using various apps via remote app and desktop connection. After an period of time she will copy a file on a file system using her local PC, but that file will not be available to the session she has via the remote app for up to 5 mins. If she shuts the app down and reopens is immediately available,  and again will work for a while, before happening again...

Got me lost. No one else has this problem while it occurring to her... Any ideas anyone ?

The request cannot be processed because a recreate job is already running or is scheduled to run in this collection

I have a clustered environment with three servers supporting Hyper-V 2012R2 for VDI's running windows 8.1. I have the environment in production and running just fine! There is one virtual server for connection broker, and another for web access.

I have tried relentlessly to update / recreate the base image to update my VDI's without success due to an error shown below.

"The request cannot be processed because a recreate job is already running or is scheduled to run in this collection"

I have successfully updated the base image twice before without issues. The problem seemed to have stemmed from deleting one of the VDI's and now the job is stuck? Even though I can create a "job" to successfully remove one of the VDI's, I cannot create a VDI or schedule a recreation without getting this error.

I have used PowerShell to check for Jobs running or failed etc. But NO jobs are running or have failed. I have rebooted all the servers without any success of being able to "release" this mystery job, and now my environment cannot do anything but run the VDI's.

Please help?

Thanks

Remote Desktop Services SSO Login Repeat

Hello,

I have RDS 2012 r2 setup and working fine with SSO enabled. Except if I create a RPD file on my desktop and I click on it, when I'm connected to the domain it logs in with my locally logged on credentials onto the RDS Host. If I go external and connect to an Internet connection, then click on the icon it says that the it didn't accept my credentials and ask me to type them again. I type them in and it works, I've set this up before and it worked externally without asking for my credentials again. I have all my server fqdm setup correctly with certs etc. but it still wn't work!!

Any help would be fantastic.

rdweb authentication error 0x607

Hi,

I deployed a RDS 2012r2 with a self-singed certificate and everything worked until I changed the certificate with a third party cert.
I can still login using RDP from a client through RDS Gateway and broker .. is working, but when I try to log on through RDWeb I get the famous "authentication error 0x607" error.
Setting/changing the collection security to low ... is not working for me.I can't imaging that recreating the collection is the only solution to this.

Thank You,
Best Regards,

Error removing a VM in a RDS 2012 R2 pooled collection

Hi,

I needed to remove 2 virtual machines in a RDS 2012 R2 pooled collection.

When I tried to remove them I got the following error: "Task: Calling into Hyper-V: failed. Result of task [0x80004005]".

I went and looked both in the Failover Cluster Manager and Hyper-V Manager and I didn't find the virtual machines.

In the server manager, their status is Stopped but I'm worried why I get this error.

Does anyone know how can I solve this?

Thanks in advance

Remote Desktop Services High Availablitty (Connection Broker + Session Host) doesn`t work?

$

Hi together,

we use a remote desktop session farm with 2 Hosts
RDSServer01
RDSServer02

Both Hosts have the Connection Broker and Session Host Role installed.

Connection Broker Setup for HA is done. SQL Server is on external System.

DNS Round Robin Name for Connection Broker exists for both Servers
"RDPBroker.Domain.tld" -> 192.168.1.2 (RDSServer01)
"RDPBroker.Domain.tld" -> 192.168.1.3 (RDSServer02)

ODBC Driver is installed on both and same Connection is set on both Server (test is successfull)

Access Rights to the Database are set through a Domain Group for the Computers, both Servers are member of this Group (gpresult Shows the Group Membership)

So far so good
- Loadbalancing works
- disable Connections on one Host works

But if i shut down RDSServer01 no one is able to connect to the farm, regardless if it is the active RDP Broker or not. Client get the message "This Computer cant connect to the remote Computer. Retry...."

I dont get why i get this message? Everything seems to be fine until the first installed Connection Broker is down.

Any ideas?

unable to configure Outlook client when running as a Published Application

We have 2 Windows 2008R2 Enterprise servers running as a Remote Desktop Services farm.  We run Outlook 2010 as a published application.  When a new user tries to configure Outlook for the first time, the Outlook client cannot connect to the Exchange server, saying it established a network connection but cannot make a encrypted connection to the mail server, and fails on the non-encrypted connection as well.  If the user signs into the RDS as a Remote Desktop on the same farm, Outlook will connect, but it will not hold the settings to connect Outlook as a published application.  We had this before and had to add the following registry key:

Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\General

Value: DoNotQueryUserNotificationState

Value Type: DWORD

Value Data: 1

This worked for a while, but new users we have been trying to add to the RDS over the last month are not configuring.  We are current will all Office and Windows 2008 patches.

Installing Remote Desktop Connection Broker on Server 2012 R2 - Windows Internal Database Logon Error

$

Hi All,

Getting issues installing the Remote Desktop Broker feature on Windows Server 2012 R2.

I have tried to install via Server Manager, Powershell's New-SessionDeployment and Add-WindowsFeature, all get to 91-92% then hang there for about 20 mins then fail with an error (error below is from an Add-WindowsFeature install):

"Add-WindowsFeature : The request to add or remove features on the specified server failed.

The operation cannot be completed, because the server that you specified requires a restart.

At line:1 char:1

+ Add-WindowsFeature Remote-Desktop-Services,RDS-Connection-Broker

   ption

    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : DISMAPI_Error__Failed_Reboot_Required,Microsoft.Windows.ServerManager.Commands.AddWindowsFeatureCommand

"

I know how to work around this problem but I need a hotfix or something to make the setting permanent. If I change the Windows Internal Database (WID) windows service to logon as a Domain Admin account and then start it, the installation will continue and go through without any issues. The problem I have is I'm trying to script the install of RDS into a cloud environment and the WID service does not exist until the installation is initiated, meaning i cant script changing the logon of the WID Service prior to the installation.

I've already researched this and can see that this error can occur when installing RD Broker on a machine that has AD Domain Services installed, but my server is a fresh 2012R2 server as a member, not a DC.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

2012 R2 RDS Temporary Profile issue

$

I have set up a standard 3 node 2012 R2 RDS for testing. All virtualized on VMware ESXi 5.0. I have a connection Broker, session host, and web access server. I have published several applications and I can access them without a problem. Here is my issue:

When I try to log on to my session host server either locally or thru RDP, I am always logged in with a Temporary profile. It does not mater what user account I use. Even logging on locally as the administrator I get a temporary profile.

All windows updates are installed and current.

I have removed the server from the domain, deleted the account, and rejoined it to the domain.

I have deleted all .bak registry entries from here:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

There is a hotfix here for a similar issue on 2012 but it does not apply to 2012 R2

The only event viewer errors are:

1515 (Windows has backed up this user profile. Windows will automatically try to use the backup profile the next time this user logs on.)

1511 (Windows cannot find the local profile and is logging you on with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off.)

Any suggestions to resolve would be greatly appreciated.

RDP ClientActiveX has been disconnected (Reason= 4360)

Hello,

Ever since we upgraded to RDP 8.1 on our Windows 7 SP1 clients, the clients connected to our Windows Server 2012 R2 RD Session Host have been getting randomly disconnected. Some days it's about 5 disconnects a day, some days it's around 20-40. The clients report the following error:

RDP ClientActiveX has been disconnected (Reason= 4360)

While the server reports the following error message that matches up to the client:

Session 19 has been disconnected, reason code 0

Searching just leads me to other people who have the problem but no fixes. The server and clients are all fully patched with the latest updates. Anyone else experience this problem?
