I recently enabled folder redirection for Documents, favourites and videos. they seemed to be working ok. I also selected the option to 'Apply apply redirection policy to Win 2000, server 2000, XP and win server 2003'. This seemed to create a folder called application data on the share i created for redirected folders. I logged on as a test user but found that under c:\users\testuser, the folder AppData was there. I can understand that because i applied the policy to effect older MS versions, the application data folder was created. However, i unchecked the option to apply folder redirection to older MS versions, updated gp on RDS but still found that the Application folder is there instead of AppData.
Is this how AppData Roaming rerdirection is supposed to work? why is a local copy of AppData created on the RDS server, with a different set of files in \Roaming folder? Will this effect my server if outlook is installed on the RDS and settings get installed on RDS (locally) instead of being kept on the Application Data folder which is on the server?
