I'm fighting problems created by a number of sites switching to VDI desktops. Our ssystem uses the physical machine location to identify what announcements to make and where to direct callers to in the office. Counters and Desks at drop in service centres.
The VDI machine number returned obviously does not have any idea where it's user is located, but is there no way of identifying at which physical device a user is logged in, at the very least to select the correct CCTV camera to identify the user when suspicious
activity is detected. In our case the panic alarm can be actioned even without a local user logged in as it knows the machines identity.
