We have a problem with an applications' name not being updated when using RemoteApp. It's called Visma Global and when you run the program you can sign into different customers, which we organize by giving them numbers. This number is then added to the taskbar
name of the program after you have logged in. After we switched over to using RemoteApp (We previously used Citrix XenApp) this number doesn't show up in the application name on the taskbar anymore.
Most of our users need to have several customers up at the same time, which they switch between periodically, and that means running several Visma Globals each connected to a different customer. Which works fine, except they can't see the difference between
them when they hover over the Visma Global stack on the taskbar.
I tried it by using Remote Desktop (which our users do not use and do not want to use) and there the number does show up in the application name on the taskbar.
In programs like Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office etc. there is no issue with this. If you switch between for example Inbox and Contacts in Outlook the application name in the taskbar gets updated.
Another thing we've noticed is that we have one user that is still using Windows 7 without any service pack, and when he uses the application in RemoteApp the client number does show up in the name.
The rest of our users use mostly Windows 7 with Service Pack 1, a few use Windows 8 or 8.1
All our servers use Windows Server 2012 R2.
Has anyone encountered this before? Is there a fix or a workaround for it?
