I am currently experience issue with my 2008R2 RD Terminal Servers. Every time I reboot the server it stuck in the "Apply computer settings" screen for few hours. These RD Terminal server is part of our NLB cluster. User connect to the RD terminal Servers via FQDN for the NLB cluster VIP . Each servers has dual network adaptor. The second network adaptor is link to a NLB cluster. If one of the servers stuck in the "Apply computer settings screen" Open NLB manger from one of the RD Terminal server, NLB manager will end up not responding.
I have found a way to allow me to login to the problematic RD terminal server by disabling the network on the network adaptor of the vm. This allow me to login. Then I quickly re enable the network on the adaptor. Users complained when they log in to that server stuck at "Apply computer settings" screen
We do have GPO policy apply to these terminal servers I have moved one of the RD Terminal server to another OU with minimum policy that makes no different.
