We have a Windows 2008 Standard domain, AD. We use Terminal Services and virtual servers. Many clients use HP thin client workstations to access the network.
We are having random issues with Microsoft XPS Writer being changed to the default printer on some profiles. Again, this is a random occurrence. A user will select a system printer, set it as their default printer, and when they logoff and back on, the Microsoft XPS Writer is set to the default again. Some have the Microsoft XPS Writer and then another instance that will be names something like "Microsoft XPS Writer (Redirect 2)". I have seen the redirect number be from 1 to 8.
Has anyone seen this before? Can I remove the Microsoft XPS Writer from the servers, and hopefully this will stop it from being randomly set as a user's default printer? Since it is a random thing, I cannot duplicate it.
Thanks in advance, anyone that can help!
