Is it true that prohibiting access to the Control Panel on RD Session Host Servers for a ONLY a targeted group of users via Group Policy actually disables the ability to install MSI packages for any user of the server including Administrators who are not subject to the GPO setting prohibiting this access?
If so, is there any way around this other than to disable this setting in the group policy object every time a new MSI application needs to be installed on RDS?
I haven't tested this, but I am working in a semi-production environment where playing around with installing software is a difficult thing to schedule time for. I read this was the case in the Windows Server 2008 R2 RDS Resource Kit book, which appears to be an excellent source of information on RDS in general.
