Hello All -
Sadly, I have a client (for reasons I wont bore you with) still using Windows 2003 Standard R2 with Terminal Server. Since everyone has been working remotely, they have run into an issue. There are no per device cals left.
From what I've read, revoking a Windows 2003 terminal server CAL is not an option in Windows 2003. There are quite a few device cals which are being held up because the device is no longer in use, but the license is not close to expiring.
I am working with a Microsoft partner on adding licenses, but in the meantime I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions?
I was also curious what would happen if I deactivated the terminal server and reactivated it? Would all of the licenses become available and assigned as needed by devices actually in use? Would I need the license keys to reactivate the server with the licenses already on the server?
Thanks in advance.
Nick
