I have been working on setting up a new published environment and have ran into a problem with an application causing a screen flicker. I reached out to the company that wrote the application and they have seen the problem with previous server OS's but have not done much testing yet with Server 2012 or 2012 R2.
The previous fix that they applied to 2003 and was able to use for 2008 R2 was this hotfix.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/955692
However, this hotfix does not seem to reference anything that would work for or has even been tested for a 2012 environment. Out of sheer curiosity, because the tech i worked with said they had managed to get it to work on a 2008 r2 server, i attempted to run the hotfix, but was quickly thwarted with a "Not enough storage is available to process this command" error. Having seen this problem before I hit up the registry to try and adjust the IRPStackSize registry entry, but no increased values I entered ever changed this error. Because of this, this leads me to believe that this hotfix, cannot be applied at all.
I have looked to see if there has been an updated release of this hotfix for Server 2012, but have not been successful.
My question to the community is now, can anyone either walk me through or help me find a way to manually perform what this hotfix does or at the very least help my find a way to try and run the older hotfix? This will at the very least help me see if this resolves my flicker issue with this application.
