We have one Windows 2012 R2 server that has been functioning fine up to a couple of weeks ago. After a reboot the screen colors went haywire. It seems somehow the “Windows Basic” color scheme got corrupted. Black text becomes yellow text. White backgrounds become black backgrounds. The right-hand scroll bar becomes black with white outline. And in some cases white text will replace black text on a white background, rendering the window contents invisible.
Following a number of suggestions online I have been able to get this server back where users can use it. What I have read online indicates that a reboot (due to MS Updates or whatever other reason) could cause this corruption again.
What I want to know - has MS come out with a permanent fix for this issue? Just because the basic color scheme gets corrupted is no reason to have to reload a server (one suggestion I found online). As I see things, this should be a situation like installing a new updated graphics driver to fix a resolution issue.
What about it MS? Care to pipe in with your thoughts on this matter?
What does the community have to say? I am hoping you tell me there is at least a hot fix for this.
Thanks
